Staying Strong

Description

The second sermon in our series; "Legacy"

This week's scripture: 2 Samuel 12:1-14

One's spiritual legacy (or spirituality in general) is not about being perfect. It is about being real. It is about being genuine. It is about being authentic. It's about being you! A person of God's own creating and redeeming, filled with talent and love.

David was blessed and challenged throughout his life. One of his challenges was his situation with Bathsheba. He didn't handle it well and found himself with severe consequences. With the grace of God and help from trusted friends, he was able to grow.

What are your top 3 blessings? What are your top 3 challenges? How is God giving you opportunities in both the blessings and challenges?

Know your strengths and weaknesses. Get caught in situations that strengthen you. Don't get caught in your weaknesses, where you know you can be tempted into unfavorable or sinful behaviors.

Repent and humbly accept God's judgment and consequences. When you sin, confess it to God and anyone hurt by your sin.

Never lose faith. God is the source of life. God is love. God is the source of our redemption and renewal! Stay focused on God!
