The Not-to-do List

September 30, 2018 - Bible Text:

Description

The fifth sermon in our series; "Healthy Habits"

This week's scripture: Colossians 2:6-15

The dreaded not-to-do list!

We've all heard of to-do lists. Many of us struggle with to-dos. We set our eyes on expectations, goals, and desires. Yet, often we find ourselves getting caught up doing things that are counterproductive  in regards to our to-dos.

In comes the NOT to-do list... this list might be even more important than the to-do list. Take an inventory of thoughts and actions for a period of time, say maybe a week. Look over your list and figure it out:

  1. what items/thoughts are necessary that you did not need to do;
  2. what items/thoughts are not necessary; and
  3. what items/thoughts that you wish you did not do.

Here's the fix for it:

  1. Delegate the tasks to someone who is more suited for the job.
  2. Direct yourself in those times to prayer, thoughts, or something to that is important to you.
  3. Disciple - draw close to God and He will draw close to you.

Know that you are forgiven, blessed, and worthy of peace, joy, happiness, and love through Jesus Christ!
